Eastern Anatolia region of Turkiye is known as a favourable area for animal production because of its vast pasture and meadow assets. Due to less cultivable lands, long and harsh winter conditions and short vegetation period crop pattern is limited. Cereal producion in which wheat comes first, has a share of about 80% in total cultivated land. However, yield is under country averages.
