Current progress of fish culture, its effects on fish consumption and Regional differences in Turkey

Abstract

This research investigates the last 13 years of our country with respect to aquacultural production and fish consumpion. Yet fish farms are increasing evey year in our country, no changes have been observed in terms of total aquacultural production and fish consumption per capita. Considering its potential our country is too far low its current place and under the world’s average values. In light of the data an evaluation was made and some suggestions have been made in aspect of catching poteintial in fish culture and increasing fish consumption.
